Boat is in Winchester, New Hampshire.

Pre-1920 restored Sebago skiff with oars and trailer.

This is a double-ended all-wood 16-foot Sebago skiff, or rowboat, built by Curtis Sanborn and/or Carlton Martin in East Sebago, Maine, between 1890 and 1920.

It spent 40 years sitting in a barn belonging to the original owners.

In 2011, Kevin Martin in Epping, NH , lightly restored it.

Modern caulking was used to seal the planks and one stem was replaced.

When last used two years ago, it was watertight, and it has been stored in a barn since.

It’s in excellent condition.

The skiff comes with a restored Holsclaw trailer with coil springs that are easier on the hull than leaf springs.

It has two pairs of 7-foot oars and oarlocks, as well as a spare wheel for trailer, jack, and other incidentals.

The frame was made of elm or alder with the body having steamed cedar planking along with brass screws.

Kevin Martin thinks the gunwale may be chestnut.

The exterior is green Epifanes marine paint and the interior a Kirby light green tint.

This skiff is similar to other rowing skiffs that tended to be named after the bodies of water where they were built and used Rangeley Lakes boats,Chesapeake Bay skiffs, St.

Lawrence skiffs, Lake George skiffs, etc.

They are similar to peapods that are used along the New England coast.

The Sebago is distinctive for the bead running along the first plank on the exterior, with the plank finished natural and everything below the bead painted.

This one dates from 1920 at the latest or as early as the 1890s, although there is no way to assign an exact date.

It was well-stored, and thus suffered little damage over the years.

Will deliver within New England if driving costs gas are paid by buyer otherwise shipping and fees at your expense.

Can store in the barn until spring if you prefer.
