This beautiful bluewater cruiser offers the
occupants the utmost in cruising privacy with its two separate cabin
entrances and fully private sleeping areas.
Cruising refrigeration , a
new powerful Yanmar engine and watermaker provide reliable long
distance cruising for one or two couples.
Her moderate draft and
easily handled sailplan make this the perfect coastal, Bahamas or
Caribbean cruiser.
This is truly a yacht ready and able to cruise or
live aboard in air conditioned comfort.
ACCOMMODATIONS: Starting
forward one finds the private guest cabin with its extra large V-berth
with removable mattress,There are cabinets, bookshelves and drawers
galore, all in rich teak.
A recent upgrade is a vented storage unit
built into the V of the berths.
An overhead hatch provides through
ventilation.
A vanity is to port with a stainless steel sink.
Aft,
through a teak door is the spacious salon with its large folding teak
dining table.
Outboard each side are full length settees, each pulling
out for excellent port or starboard sea berths.
Many more teak
louvered door cabinets and bookshelves provide storage and a nice warm
atmosphere.
The flooring throughout is in rich teak and holly.
Headroom is 6' 4".
Aft of the salon to port is the large U-shaped
galley with space for two.
On the starboard side, aft of the second
companionway, is the large head with its separate shower.
Aft to port
is the large owners berth with stowage beneath.
Opposite that is the
navigation station with its own hanging wet locker and handy access to
the cockpit through the aft companionway.
Easy engine access is just
under the companionway.
Five 12 volt fans cool the interior.
GALLEY::
The galley is a delight with the extra large deep SS sinks to aft and
the overhead rich teak cabinets.
Just outboard the sink is a large dry
storage compartment.
Next is the SS gimballed Princess 3-burner
propane stove and oven.
Forward is the super sized freezerrefrigerator
powered by the famous Seafrost engine drive refrigeration with the
convenience of 110 volt shore assist.
Seafrost - new valves and hoses
replaced in engine driven compressor 2004.
New Seafrost compressor
installed 2009, system recharged, and completely checked.
ELECTRONICS:
Befitting this bluewater boat is the fine array of electronics.
The
navigation equipment is located where it should be, at the navigation
station.
The autopilot and chartplotter are at the helm and the
performance instruments are just forward of the helm in plain view.

ELECTRICAL: This vessel's DC electrical system was evaluated to be in
full compliance with ABYC engineering standards E-9.
The boat is
cooled to three areas with a central Mermaid 12,000btu air
conditioning system. 2 4D 12 volt batteries in acid proof tray 12
indicator 110 volt panels at nav station 1 Group-27 dedicated
emergency engine start battery Newmar 15 amp marine battery charger
GFCI circuit 30 amp shore power with 30 to 50 amp adaptor, plus
extensions 4 position battery switch Balmar 100 amp alternator,
completely rebuilt 2003 ABYC E-1.4A electrical bonding system SAILS
AND SAIL HANDLING: Masthead sloop with painted aluminum spars and 1 X
19 SS shrouds.
All 1 X 19 SS standing rigging and swaged turnbuckles
replaced with new 2006 Multi-part boom vang New boom and in-boom

HULL AND DECK:Solid reinforced fiberglass hull with no blisters
noted in 2012.
Hull completely refurbished by sandblasting, new epoxy,
primer and 3 layers of undercoating in April 2012.
Cruising fin
underbody with skeg hung rudder.
Framework is of longitudinal
stringers and athwartship members encapsulated in RFG and bonded to
the hull.
The deck is RFG with 3 deck hatches and 2 sliding
companionway hatches.
Offshore dodger and bimini new 2009 with heavy
SS bows protect the cockpit.
The spacious cockpit is drained with 2
cockpit skuppers.
A manual "Whale" bilge pump is located in the
cockpit.
There are 4 skuppers draining the weather decks.
Four cockpit
lockers including the propane locker provide storage.
The crew is
protected with double SS lifelines mounted on 26 12" SS stanchions and
"Granny" bars at the mast.
Stern transom and toe rail for backstay a
weak spot in the Pearson 424 was straightened and reinforced in 2006.

ENGINE AND MECHANICAL: This yacht is one of
the few Pearson 424's with a new 1997 Yanmar 65HP 1150 hours 4
cylinder engine coupled via a Velvet V-drive to a 3 bladed 20" bronze
prop on a new 2013 SS shaft.
The engine was remounted with proper
motor mounts in 2006.
V-drive rebuilt in 2009 bearings replaced.
Transmission completely rebuilt 2006.
Prop lock rebuilt.
New SS drive
shaft installed to replace worn bronze shaft and propellor balanced
2013.
Steering is Edson chain and wire.
There is an emergency tiller.
One 80 gallon aluminum tank is for fuel while 150 gallons of water are
in 3 fiberglass tanks.
WATER SYSTEMS: The high point of the water
system is the Recovery EngineeringPUR Survivor 35 watermaker. 6 gallon
